FLIGHT INFORMATION
Puerto Iguazú, which is the city where the congress will take place, is located in the province of Misiones in the northeast of Argentina. Since it is a border city with Foz do Iguazu in Brazil, it allows you to reach the place both via Argentina and via Brazil.
The most convenient flight will depend on multiple factors such as: the country of origin and the available air routes, the prices and facilities of air connections, the desire to do pre or post tours, etc.
We suggest purchasing tickets at your local agency, however the official congress agency will be able to provide you with advice and eventually issue your ticket if you require it.
When tour participant require to the Official Travel Coordinator to reserve and ticket air travel, the best available fare will in turn be advised.
Alternative there are international air fares which make it possible to include them under very advantageous conditions. In this case the arrangement should be made in the delegate country.
THE AIRPORTS
As we mentioned in the previous section, Puerto Iguazú is a border city, accessible via Argentina and via Brazil. Aeropuerto Internacional Cataratas (code IGR) is the Argentine airport and Aeropuerto Internacionla Foz do Iguazu (code IGU) is the Brazilian one.
Please take note that when traveling via Argentina you almost always have to change airports in Buenos Aires, from Ezeiza to Aeroparque, to take the local flight to Puerto Iguazú, and for this connection a minimum of 4 hours is needed.
On the other hand, traveling via Brazil has as a positive thing that the connections from Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro to Foz do Iguazu are usually from the same airport. But once in Foz de Iguazú you must cross the border and complete the immigration procedures which entails a certain delay, which varies depending on the time and day, and also a higher transfer cost.
