In the following lines were are presenting the conditions for applying for scholarships for doctoral or undergraduate students who wish to participate in the XIII LIBS2024 and II LATAMLIBS 2024, in Iguazu, Argentina, and who use Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) technology.
1. Advanced students in related fields or those who utilize LIBS technology, such as Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Environmental Engineering, among others, and who are studying at Latin American universities and academic institutes, are eligible to apply.
2. Postgraduate students who are pursuing master's or doctoral degrees and utilize LIBS technology, and who are under 30 years of age before the final date of submission of Technical Papers, are also eligible to apply.
3. To compete for the scholarships, interested applicants must submit a Certificate of Regular Enrollment.
4. Undergraduate students are required to submit an Extended Abstract related to one of the Congress themes that utilizes LIBS technology. The Extended Abstracts should be between 3 and 5 pages long and adhere to the editorial guidelines. They should be uploaded to August 10, 2024 (in the Call for Abstracts tab on this site), ensuring the selection of the "Student " option when uploading the document. The works selected by the Technical Committee will be presented at the Congress in the Poster Session.
5. Postgraduate students must submit complete Technical Papers that utilize LIBS technology, following the specified dates for Abstract and Technical Paper submission. Authors can choose to present their work as a poster or an oral presentation. The Technical Committee will determine their inclusion in the General Sessions, based on the quality and innovation of the work.
6. The Technical Committee will award one (1) full scholarship for each accepted work, which can be taken by the first author or any member of the participating team.
7. Each full scholarship will include free registration and lunch expenses during the days of the Congress.
8. A jury composed of three industry professionals will evaluate the works presented in the Poster Session and determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for awards.
9. Considering the need to manage the availability of scholarships based on the received works, the Technical Committee may accept works that, even without a scholarship, can be published at the Book of Congress as part of the Student Program, taking into account the availability of scholarships.
